Lynchburg Symphony Orchestra Strings: Inspired by Folk

The Lynchburg Symphony Orchestra returns to live performance with a diverse program emphasizing the folk origins of many classical works.

Featuring a group of over 20 players from the LSO’s string section, this program will present folk-influenced music by Gustav Holst, Bela Bartok, and Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky.  This program will also feature the music of two groundbreaking Black composers, Harry Burleigh and Duke Ellington, and a tribute to LSO charter member Jean H. Raas, with the music of Gustav Mahler.

An Important Note for Guests Attending Upcoming Performances:

All guests attending performances at the Academy Center of the Arts will be asked to adhere to the following health & safety policies documented in our Venue Reopening Health & Safety Guidelines.

Social distancing controls will be used in the house, allowing only parties of two to be seated together at one time.

Please also note that this performance will not have an intermission to reduce guest gathering.
